PRESS STATEMENT
I have received with profound concern and deep anguish the distressing report of the disappearance of Miss Eunice Ameh, a young legal practitioner and serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), who was reportedly last seen on Tuesday, 6 May 2026, at about 5:35 p.m. around Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama, Abuja, while returning to Life Camp after work.
This troubling development is not merely a personal tragedy for her family, friends, and colleagues at the Bar; it is one that should concern every conscientious member of society. The unexplained disappearance of a young citizen lawfully pursuing her career raises serious concerns about public safety, collective vigilance, and the value we place on human life and dignity.
At moments like this, society is measured not only by the effectiveness of its institutions but also by the compassion and responsiveness of its people. I therefore make a passionate appeal to anyone with useful information, no matter how minor it may seem, regarding the whereabouts of Miss Eunice Ameh, to immediately contact her family or report to the nearest police station or relevant security agency. Experience has shown that vital leads often come from seemingly insignificant details.
I also urge the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to intensify and sustain every lawful effort necessary to secure her safe return. Situations of this nature require urgency, coordination, diligence, and unwavering commitment, as every moment counts.
It is my sincere hope and prayer that Miss Eunice Ameh will be found safe and reunited with her loved ones without further delay.
