A Sharia court sitting at Filin Hockey in Kano State has remanded Murja Ibrahim Kunya, a famous controversial Kano TikTok user in prison.

Murja was arraigned on Thursday on charges bordering on defamation of character, vulgarity, public nuisance and breach of public peace.

The defamation charge was added to the charges following a receipt of a complaint by two other TikTokers identified as Aisha Najamu and Idris Maiwushirya.

The duo complained that the embattled Murja defamed their character by blaming them for her predicament.

The prosecution counsel, Lamido Sorondinki, read the charges to Murja but she pleaded not guilty.

When her lawyer Yasir Musa moved for an application for bail, the prosecution counsel opposed it.

The presiding judge, Abdullahi Halliru, therefore ordered Kunya to be remanded in prison custody while adjourning the case till February 16, 2023..
