In its continued bid to enhance seamless transactions on its registration portal, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on Monday jointly organised a one-day Training for Lawyers.
The training which took place at the Auditorium of the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos was attended by 271 physically while 1125 attended virtually.
Speaking on behalf of the Registrar General/CEO of the Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, Ayomike Jolomi (Assistant Director Registry)
harped on the need for accredited Agents to always be guided by the published checklist and other regulations available on the Commission’s website to ensure hitch free interface.
The Technical Assistant to the Registrar General, Mohammed Abdullahi in his presentation, rolled out the rudiments for online interface and spoke extensively on methods of ensuring hitch free, Pre and Post incorporation online filings on the CRP.
Mohammed Abdullahi who maintained that the CAC would ensure continued improvement of its processes via feedback from such engagements, revealed that by the end of October,2022, many more services would be available including online Alteration of Memat and Amendment of Constitution.
Other members of the CAC Technical team, Suleiman Girei and Talle Mohammed spoke extensively on Name Reservation, Registrar General’s Consent , Registration of Limited Partnership and Limited Liability Partnership amongst others.
Both speakers charged the participants to always endeavour to be guided by the rules to ensure successful transactions.
Earlier, in his opening remark, the Chairman NBA Lagos, Ikechukwu Uwanna said the training was amongst others aimed at improving performance of members during their respective interface with the CAC online portal.
Ikechukwu Uwanna who applauded the Commission’s reform initiatives, revealed that the idea of the training was conceived during the December, 2021 meeting of the branch as CAC was critical to their operations.
He therefore urged participants to utilize the opportunity provided by the training to amongst others enhance their user ability in order to efficiently serve their clients.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman NBA Lagos CAC Liaison Committee, Okey Ilofulunwa, enjoined the participants to adequately utilise the experience garnered at the event.
