Women Affairs Minister, Tallen Tasks Justice System On Pending Cases Of Violence Against Women And Girls

The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, has urged the Justice system to take immediate action with regard to open cases of violence against women and girls as part of preparations for the 2022 International Day for National Human Rights.

This was said by the minister on Wednesday in Abuja at the NHRC/Civil Society event.

She also urged all concerned parties and well-meaning Nigerians to continue raising awareness of the dangers of violence against women and girls.

Tony Ojukwu, the Executive Secretary of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), reiterated the commission’s dedication to defending and advancing the human rights of every Nigerian citizen.

Ojukwu, the forum is aimed to instigate a major role for the Commission to work provide a mechanism that will address the issue of violation of human rights in the country.

According to him, at this critical time there is need to engage with stakeholders, CSOs various fields of human rights to ensure development frameworks are achieve at the community level.
