Unpaid Allowances: JUSUN Begins Warning Strike Today

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ogun State branch has commenced a five-day warning strike starting from Monday, 26th of February , due to inability of the state government to pay the 40 per cent peculiar allowance to the union staff.

Olanrewaju Ajiboye, the state JUSUN Chairman, while addressing the press in Abeokuta, noted that the strike was initiated after unsuccessful meetings with the government.

He said “Despite multiple engagements with the State Head of Service and correspondence with the government, negotiations reached a stalemate”

Ajiboye further mentioned that on February 3, the union convened a congress where a 21-day ultimatum was issued to the government. The failure to address their demands prompted the five-day warning strike.

While urging the state government to address the workers’ concerns, Ajiboye emphasized the importance of resolving the issue promptly.
