Any government employee who withdraws money from public accounts after March 1, 2023 runs the possibility of being investigated and working with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, and Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (ICPC).
At a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NFIU, Modibbo Haman Tukur, confirmed this development and revealed that the decision is in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) initiative to completely transition Nigeria to a cashless economy.
