A man, Amanze Francis Ibuchim, has landed in trouble after he allegedly secretly lured his neighbours two underaged daughters and defiled them by engaging them in sex.
The incident happened at Iba Housing Estate, Iba area of Lagos where they reside.
The suspect was said to have enticed the victims with gifts and had seduced them severally. The information leaked, he was targeted and caught in the act.
The victims confessed and revealed that the suspect, Ibuchim, had done so severally and warned them not to reveal what happened and they kept it secret because of fear.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the conduct.
During the interrogation, he admitted to have done so with their consent. But that did not save him as the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Akinleye Funmilola, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the alleged offence was a capital offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Hughes, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
