Peter Esele is a leader, unionist and an expert in the Petroleum Industry. He is the immediate past president of the Trade Union Congress (TUC). He served in several leadership capacities in Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) such as President from April 2006 to 2008, the acting president Dec 2005 to Apr 2006, deputy president from April 2005 to December 2005.
He was one the 2016 Edo gubernatorial aspirants under the umbrella of the All Progressive Congress(APC) party.
Esele was appointed by the former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a member of the Subsidy Reinvestment Program Committee (SURE-P).He has been a member of several Committees and Governmental Initiatives such as the 2011 Constitutional Review Committee, 2011 Post Presidential Election Violence Committee, Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (NEITI); the National Stakeholder Working Group (NSWG); Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA); member of Special Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) Task Force.
Esele will be a Panelist on the first session alongside other erudite Speakers.
