LBC 2026 to Spotlight Legal Strategies for Protecting, Scaling Nigerian Fashion Brands

The 7th Edition of the Legal Business Conference (LBC) 2026 is set to examine the legal and commercial strategies needed to protect Nigerian fashion brands, strengthen their business structures and position them for greater competitiveness in international markets.

The discussion will feature at Panel Session Three, themed “Protecting Creativity and Scaling Nigerian Fashion Brands: Legal and Commercial Strategies for Global Competitiveness.” The session will explore how legal protection and sound business practices can help fashion entrepreneurs transform creative ideas into sustainable and globally competitive businesses.

Nigeria’s fashion industry represents a growing intersection of creativity, entrepreneurship, culture and commerce, with local designers and brands gaining recognition at home and abroad. However, sustaining this growth requires more than creative excellence, as businesses must also protect their intellectual property, establish strong commercial structures and develop strategies for expansion.

The panel will examine key issues affecting the industry, including intellectual property protection, brand protection, contracts, licensing, investment, manufacturing, distribution, digital commerce and international expansion. Discussions will also focus on how legal frameworks can help fashion businesses protect their creative assets, commercialise their designs and build sustainable brands capable of competing in global markets.

The session will be moderated by Prince I. Nwafuru, MCIArb, with Bernice Asein, Theresa Osime Onyido, Seun Akinloye and Moses Agosu serving as panellists.

The discussion is expected to provide valuable insights into the role of legal practitioners in helping fashion entrepreneurs navigate commercial challenges, safeguard their brands against infringement and establish the business foundations required for long-term growth.

The 7th Edition of the Legal Business Conference is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. prompt, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Victoria Island, Lagos.

With its focus on the intersection of law, commerce and creativity, LBC 2026 will explore emerging opportunities in health, sports and fashion law, bringing legal practitioners and other stakeholders together to consider how legal expertise can support innovation, investment and business growth across these sectors.
