Mr. Anthony Thomas, a lawyer, was taken before a magistrate court in Ondo town by the police in Ondo State for suspected theft of N4,775,000.
The allegation reads: “That you, Anthony Oladele Thomas, did steal the sum of N4,775,000 being part of the proceeds of the sale of Flionis property belonging to Olufemi Adesioye and his family at some point in 2009 at Ondo Town, within the Ondo State Magisterial District, by fraudulently converting the money to your personal use.
The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N3 million with two sureties in the same amount by Magistrate Oluwatoyin Olowokere.
Thomas pleaded not guilty.
The trial was postponed until January 17, 2023.
