Labour Leaders Vow To Go Ahead with Planned Strike, As Meeting with FG Ends in Deadlock

The organized labour has vowed to continue with the planned nationwide strike despite the plea from the leadership of the National Assembly.

The President of the Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo made the disclosure while speaking at the end of a closed door meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly.

Osifo disclosed that at the last meeting with government representatives, they were closed to reaching and signing the agreement but due to disagreements on the issue of the figures.

He maintained that calling off the strike at the end of the meeting remain impossible nothing that the delegation would take the decision to the national executive council of the unions.

On their parts, the Senate President, Godwill Akpabio and Speaker House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass pleaded with the labour leaders to shelve the strike.
