The Concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) is an old and effective practice in the sphere of law. It has been used successfully for thousands of years. In this era of globalization, where trade is happening at a global level, Alternative Dispute Resolution has been growing in use. Instead of litigation, organizations are choosing Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to resolve business-related disputes, because this method is flexible, time-effective, and cost-efficient.
On the need to update the judges of the superior court of record with adequate knowledge of Alternative Dispute Resolution, the Hon. Justices of the National Industrial Court joined other eminent jurists to attend the 1st Alternative Dispute Resolution Conference for Judges organized by the German Commission to the Nigeria.
The theme of the training centres on the Critical Role of the Justice Sector in the promotion of Alternatives to Litigation and was held at the Ceremonial Court, Judiciary Complex, High Court of Justice Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Industrial Court judges in attendance were Hon. Justice A. N. Ubaka, Hon. Justice Dele Peters, Hon. Justice Rabiu Gwandu, Hon. Justice Ikechi Nweneka, Hon. Justice Sanusi Kado, Hon. Justice Ogunbowale, Hon. Justice Elizabeth Oji, Hon. Justice Ibrahim Galadima and Hon. Justice Mustapha Tijani.
