Johnson Amaechi, Esq. MCIArb. (UK), ABR the immediate past Chairperson of the Logistics and Entertainment Sub-Committee of the Conference Planning Committee of the recently concluded Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Business Law 18th International Annual Business Law Conference that held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, Abuja and which also coincides witht the 20th anniversary celebration of the Section, is the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Tare Yeri Award for Selfless Service to the NBA-SBL, an annual award instituted to commemorate the selfless life that the late Tare Yeri lived towards actualising the goals and objectives of the Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Buisness Law.
Johnson was recognised for his dedication, selfless contribution, and unwavering commitment towards the development of the NBA-SBL, especially as regards the Section’s annual conference. His involvement in the planning of the Annual Business Law Conferences over the last three years has been a major factor in the success of this remarkable gathering of business lawyers within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
The award was presented by Dr. Adeoye Adefulu, Chairman of the NBA-SBL on the 28th of June 2024, at the 18th Annual Business Law Conference of the NBA-SBL.
The Tare Yeri Award is for dedication, selfless contribution, and unwavering commitment towards the development of the Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Business Law.
Tare Yeri was a vibrant and selfless young woman whose life was devoted to God and to others. She was a long-standing and committed member of the NBA-SBL who served in various capacities under every Council of the Section since its inception and contributed immensely to its growth and development.
Following her untimely demise on Saturday, 22nd April 2017, the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) instituted an annual award in her honour. Tare played very critical roles in the planning of all ten editions of the NBA-SBL Annual Business Law Conference. Prior to her demise, she was deeply involved in the planning of the Conferences of the NBA-SBL and undoubtedly contributed to the success story of the NBA-SBL.
