The Federal Government has moved the prosecution of the alleged fake Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi from the Federal High Court in Abuja to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF), Oyedepo Rotimi (SAN), disclosed this on Monday when the case came up before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja
Rotimi, who applied that the charge before the Federal High Court, and on which Adeyemi was earlier arraigned, be struck out, said the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice reviewed the case file and the charge filed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and found some loopholes.
The DPPF added that charges of conspiracy and forgery brought against Adeyemi are those that could be conveniently prosecuted before the High Court of the FCT and not the Federal High Court.
He said a new charge has since been filed before the High Court of the FCT, adding that Adeyemi would soon be arraigned before the court.
Lawyer to the defendant, Ibrahim Angulu (SAN), did not object to Rotimi’s request that the charge be struck out, following which Justice Umar proceeded to strike out the charge, marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/25/2025
Adeyemi is currently being held in Kuje prison, Abuja.
