The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked for a collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Customs Service to fight crime.
The EFCC called for the collaboration in fighting economic crimes and corruption in Borno State.
The Commander of the Maiduguri Zonal Command of the EFCC, ACE I Oshodi Johnson, made the call when he visited the offices of the NDLEA and Customs in the state.
Johnson who earlier visited the NDLEA at their Maiduguri office, said there was need to sustain the existing relationship between them.
He added that NDLEA usually handed over suspected internet fraudsters arrested by the agency in some parts of the country to the Commission for investigation and possible prosecution.
“The fight against money laundering and narcotics must be sustained in this part of the country and the offences have assumed a disturbing and alarming dimension”, Johnson said.
Also speaking, the Borno State Commandant of the NDLEA, Joseph Icha, appreciated Johnson for the visit, assuring him of the agency’s support.
Meanwhile, Johnson who visited the Customs House in Maiduguri, was received by the Area Comptroller, Baffa Musa Dambam.
Dambam further appreciated him for the visit and assured him of the NCS’ continuous support and collaboration.
