Prince I. Nwafuru is the Managing Partner at The Law Suite, a commercial law firm
based in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos Nigeria, with correspondence offices in Abuja and Port
Harcourt. Before co-founding The Law Suite with two other Partners, Prince was a Sector
Head, Arbitration and Capital Market Disputes at a top commercial law firm in Lagos Nigeria where he co-led the Firm’s Financial Services, Arbitration, Corporate Services and Taxation Practice Group. An astute and resourceful legal practitioner, with vast experience in commercial dispute resolution and transactions, he has personally handled complex and high-profile commercial litigation and arbitration matters in major Courts in Nigeria and up to the Supreme Court.

Prince has represented and advised local and international clients on a wide range of non-exhaustive practice areas such as Digital Assets offerings, Regulations and Government Policies, Blockchain transactions, Commercial Law, Start-Up, Innovation, Technology, cross-border investment, Maritime, Oil & Gas, Media, International Trade, Entertainment and Creative Industry. Amongst his clients are bitcoin focused start-ups and project owners.

Prince has a special interest in assisting Tech start-up and SMEs on how to build legally protected business especially in the areas of business formation, intellectual property, employment relations, taxation, and regulatory compliance. With the coming into force of the treaty establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), Prince has been advocating for the implementation of the free trade agreement to drive industrialization through value chain creation and economic development in Africa. He worked with one of the Committees in Nigeria tasked with coordinating inputs on the AfCFTA Phase I Negotiations in 5 priority service sectors including legal services. He is the founder of the AfCFTA Legal Network (a network of African lawyers in Africa and diaspora). Prince was a columnist for Nairametrics, a leading financial information digital
newspaper based in Lagos, Nigeria and wrote on the AfCFTA.

AwwHe was the Vice Chairman, Code of Conducts and Discipline at Virtual Asset Service Providers Association (VASPA).
