ASUU May Call Off Strike Soon

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may call off its three-month strike soon.

The lecturers on strike are considering suspending the industrial action for three months.

Reportedly, the suspension may last for three months, during which the union will continue negotiations with the federal government.

However, if the government does not meet its demands within three months, the union will commence an indefinite strike.

The union’s consideration to end the strike came after President Buhari’s appeal.

ASUU embarked on a warning strike in February to emphasise its demands from the federal government. The strike was extended by 12 weeks on May 9.
