Seun Kuti, an afrobeat singer, has pledged to work closely with the police after Inspector-General of Police Usman Baba ordered his detention.
After Kuti emerged in a widely circulated video attacking an officer, the order was given.
In the footage that surfaced on Saturday, Kuti could be seen gesturing at the unnamed policeman before pushing and slapping him.
In response, Baba gave the singer’s arrest orders to the Lagos State Command Commissioner of Police, as it was claimed that the event occurred there.
Following the order for his arrest, Kuti wrote on his Instagram story, “I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted.”
