The National University Commission (NUC) has approved the College of Law of Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State to run both Common Law and Islamic Law.
The Commission also approved the College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences of the university to run Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health and Environmental Sciences.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Amidu Sanni, disclosed this at a press briefing on the 10th and 11th convocation and graduation ceremony of for the 2020 and 2021 set.
He said the College of Law building would be inaugurated by Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), during the convocation.
According to him, “Our Law programmes will be very unique with the offer of collaboration and staff and students exchange from world-class universities. The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria came here and the team was more than impressed with what we have in place.”
He said a total not 549 graduating students would be conferred with first degree in various disciplines as well as the Master’s Degree students who have successfully completed their studies.
The Convocation lecture with the theme “Empowering the Nigerian Youth through Information and Communication Technology” would be delivered by Professor Umar Garba Danbata, the Executive Vice-Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission.
