The president of the Senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan has joined the long list of presidential aspirants under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Lawan who is the 24th on the list picked his forms today (Monday) ahead of the party’s primary election coming up at the end of the month.
The forms were picked on behalf of the Senate president by his political associates led by one of the APC national leaders, Chief Sam Nkire.
Nkire who was flanked by 15 other Senators said Nigeria needs a president for all who works above ethnic differences.
“We want the current Senate President to be the president of Nigeria for many reasons.
“National stability one, and a president that we are bringing for the Nigerian people is a Nigerian president, not an Igbo president, not a Fulani president, not a Yoruba president, but a Nigerian president who we have watched and see that there would be no other candidate that will be so level-headed and someone who has the feeling of the poor Nigerians”, he stated.
He further disclosed that the senate president gave them the nod to pick the forms on his behalf after friends, brothers, and political associates had contributed to the purchase.
