Yola Law School Student Kills Self Over Final Bar Exam

A student of the Yola Campus of the Nigeria Law School, Ayomiposi Ojajuni, has allegedly taken his own life after he was prevented from sitting for his final bar examination.

The tragic incident became public on Sunday, following reports that Ayomiposi died earlier in the day after consuming a poisonous substance on Saturday, December 6, moments after confirming he would not be allowed to take the examination scheduled to begin that morning.

Sources said the late student became visibly distressed on realising he would not be permitted into the examination hall. He reportedly ingested the harmful substance shortly afterwards and was rushed to the Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital, Yola, where he later passed on.

Those familiar with the matter explained that the school authorities had decided to bar him from the examination due to several unanswered queries previously issued to him.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaiman Nguroje, could not be reached for comment on Sunday afternoon when this report was being concluded, but another dependable police source confirmed Ayomiposi Ojajuni’s suicide.
