Yemi Akangbe, SAN Congratulates Bwari Branch on 2025 Law Week, Calls for Better Delivery of Justice

Former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, has extended warm felicitations to the leadership and members of the NBA Bwari Branch — popularly known as the Cradle Bar — as they mark their 2025 Law Week.

In a goodwill message, Akangbe lauded the Branch’s chosen theme for the week: “Lawyers as Agents of Change: Navigating Economic Reforms, Judicial Policy and Contemporary Issues,” describing it as both timely and weighty. According to him, the theme reaffirms the legal profession’s role as a vital force for national progress and good governance.

“This theme calls us back to the nobility of our calling — not as mere experts in the business of law, but as conscience-bearers of the nation, custodians of justice, and promoters of good governance,” Akangbe stated.

He further emphasized the critical role lawyers must play in moments of national uncertainty, urging legal professionals to remain courageous and principled in their pursuit of justice.

Akangbe concluded by wishing the Cradle Bar fruitful deliberations and commending their ongoing contributions toward building a just and equitable Nigeria.
