I extend congratulations to the leadership and members of the Young Lawyers’ Forum, NBA Garki Branch, on the occasion of your 2025 Annual Law and Inclusive Development Summit themed “Setting the Pace.”
This theme speaks directly to your place in the legal profession—as the engine room of renewed innovation, and astute advocacy. The truth is simple: young lawyers must not sit on the sidelines. You must lead the charge for a more progressive Bar and a better society. You stand to gain the most from the reforms you help to shape today.
Remember, no one features in a future they fail to picture or fight for. Now is the time to be intentional, to put in the work, and to dream.
Keep setting the pace, the future is watching and it belongs to you.
LATEEF OMOYEMI AKANGBE, SAN, FCIArb(UK).
