“WORKERS DESERVE THEIR WAGES” – I CALL ON THE KANO STATE GOVERNMENT TO LEAD THE DIALOGUE & GIVE EAR TO HER LAW OFFICERS – PAST NBA NATIONAL OFFICER, OKEY OHAGBA

The ongoing face-off between Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN), Kano State Chapter and the Government of Kano State calls for sober reflection and demands urgent attention. It is not a development to be waved aside, because when law officers withdraw their services, the strain is felt across the justice system, and access to just will be greatly impeded.

This is not a time for pride or hardened positions. It is a time for dialogue and restraint. It is equally important that negotiations are conducted in good faith, with proper consideration given to the welfare concerns raised by the law officers, as well as recognising the importance of maintaining essential legal services for the public good.

I call on the Government of Kano State to take responsibility this moment by giving prompt attention to the concerns raised by her Law Officers – *”every worker deserves his wages”*. A fair response backed by commensurate action from the government would ease this brewing tension, strengthen trust, and reaffirm respect for those who serve the cause of justice.

I remain hopeful that the government would heed wise counsel and take immediate steps with the leadership of LOAN to resolve this impasse amicably.

In solidarity,
Okey Leo Ohagba, Esq.
Past National Officer, NBA.
