Tinubu Files Emergency Appeal To Block Chicago University From Releasing Records

President Bola Tinubu has requested for a review of the decision ordering the release of his academic records to Atiku Abubakar in an emergency suit that he filed.

On September 19, as part of an ongoing election challenge action in Nigeria, Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of the United States District Court ordered Chicago State University to give Mr. Tinubu’s documents to his Nigerian political rival, Atiku Abubakar.

The judge ruled that Mr. Abubakar must receive the records by September 21. Additionally, he stated that all records that have been released must be certified by school administrators under oath.

But as the school started preparing to release the files, Mr Tinubu entered an emergency application in the district asking a senior judge to review Mr Gilbert’s September 19 order and delay execution until at least September 25.
