“The Legal Profession Is a Calling, Not a Fallback” — Rapulu Nduka Charges Lawyers to Uphold Justice

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Dr. Rapulu Nduka, has called on legal practitioners to remain steadfast in defending justice and upholding the ethical standards of the profession. In a thought-provoking message titled “unwRAPped COUNSEL,” Nduka described the legal profession as a sacred calling that demands courage, integrity, and unwavering commitment to truth, even in difficult circumstances.

According to him, lawyers occupy a critical position as custodians of justice and must resist the temptation to compromise their principles for convenience or personal gain. He stressed that the strength and credibility of the justice system depend largely on the standards maintained by members of the legal profession, while encouraging lawyers across the country to remain resolute in promoting justice and the rule of law.

unwRAPped COUNSEL

The legal profession is not a fallback. It is a calling.
A call to stand firm when it is easier to bend; to speak when silence is convenient; to defend justice, even when it is unpopular.

We are not just lawyers.
We are custodians of justice, and the system is only as strong as the standards we uphold.

Have a fruitful week.

Dr. Rapulu Nduka
Past National Publicity Secretary,
Nigerian Bar Association.
