A task force on domestic violence cases in New Hampshire’s judicial system finished up its first meeting Tuesday.

The task force was created after a case in November in which a woman was shot, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, a month after a judge denied her request for a longer-term protective order.
A goal for Tuesday’s virtual meeting was to discuss resources to better support victims throughout the legal process, including the general petition process. Task force members were also examining the training judges go through.
Some in the meeting said they believe protocols aren’t applied consistently, saying that when a course of action works, it’s successful, but when it doesn’t, there’s a high risk for danger.
The task force said it now wants to update the protocols.
