Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and the President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), has given Muslim lawyers the responsibility of figuring out how to make money so they won’t need assistance to carry out their operations.

The Sultan gave the advise while speaking to the leaders and members of the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria who paid him a courtesy call on Thursday in Sokoto.

He stated that it is their duty as Muslims to set an example for others to follow in carrying out their duties.

“Our religion is always pointing out the need to be patient and dedicated toward carrying out our daily activities.

“Islam demands all of you to lead by example in your behaviour and working career”.

“So, you must always do the best you can do, in order not to allow other people to be calling your names that you are Muslims but see how they behave,” he said.

The Sultan also commended the association for strengthening the bond of their relationship and brotherhood, urging them to sustain the tempo.

Earlier, the National President of the association, Dr Kazeem Olaniyam, decried that the association was being under utilised by the NSCIA and pleaded with the Sultan to ensure their involvement in its activities.

“We are always ready for your call and invitation to carryout any assignment in the cause for Islam,” he said

Olaniyam appreciated the Sultan’s commitment to peace and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
