The Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria (JDWAN) strikers’ meeting with the Lagos State Government has been rescheduled for Friday, November 4, 2022.

JDWAN informed the public that the strike is still in effect till the Friday meeting.

JDWAN National Leader Abiodun Akintade stated in a statement released on Wednesday that the government has been informed of their demands.

“We made our presentation on the situations that caused the strike and our demands. The government’s team feigned sympathy with us.

“They, however, said they wanted us to have both representatives of the NURTW and the RTEAN to also be in the negotiations so they could present their own sides of the story.

“So, the meeting was adjourned till Friday by 12 pm at the Alausa Secretariat”, he stated.

Commercial drivers embarked on a seven-day strike on Monday, October 31, 2022, giving reasons for the unexpected industrial action.
