Andrew Osemedua Odum, SAN, is a seasoned legal practitioner with over two decades of experience in advocacy, public service and legal reform. He is the Managing Solicitor at A.O. Odum SAN & Co., Seat of Wisdom Chambers, Asaba, Delta State.
A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (LL.B, Hons) and the University of Benin (LL.M), Mr. Odum was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2000. His career spans leadership roles within the Nigerian Bar Association, including Chairman of the Asaba Branch, and membership of several national committees focused on electoral reform, criminal justice, public procurement, and construction and infrastructure law. He has also contributed to key policy frameworks in Delta State and beyond, serving on committees for child rights, water law, health insurance policy and law, judiciary reform, and public procurement, among others.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nigeria). He currently chairs the Development Law Committee of the NBA SPIDEL, is immediate past chair of the Construction and Infrastructure Projects Committee of the NBA SBL, and serves as Secretary of the Society for Construction Law in Nigeria. He is also a member of the BPP NBA Partnership Committee, and his work has earned him numerous awards for excellence, leadership and service to humanity.
Internationally, Mr. Odum is a Diversity Officer of the IBA ICP Unit, a member of the Projects Execution Committee of the International Construction Projects of the IBA, and a member of the International Construction Arbitration Association. He served as Legal Adviser to the Governor of Delta State from 2011 to 2015 and currently sits on the Governing Council of the Delta State University, Abraka.
Outside the courtroom, he is passionate about mentoring, teaching and sacred music.
