SEC Revokes Kensington Agro Trading Limited’s Registration As Capital Market Operator

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has officially revoked the registration of Kensington Agro Trading Limited as a capital market operator, effective immediately.

In a public notice released on Sunday, the SEC did not provide details on the reasons behind the revocation. Kensington Agro Trading Limited was previously licensed to operate as a commodity broker/dealer and collateral manager within Nigeria’s capital market.Nigerian Events Calendar

“The Securities and Exchange Commission (‘the Commission’) hereby notifies the general public of the revocation of the registration of Kensington Agro Trading Limited as a capital market operator (Commodity Broker/Dealer and Collateral Manager) with immediate effect,” the notice stated.

The SEC said the decision was made under its authority as outlined in Section 61(6) of the Investments and Securities Act (ISA) 2025 and Rule 34(1) of the SEC Rules and Regulations 2013, as amended.Nigerian Events Calendar

As a result of the revocation, the company is no longer authorized to conduct any capital market activities in Nigeria. The SEC has advised commodity exchanges, investors, traders, and other market participants to immediately cease all dealings with the firm.
