In a significant show of solidarity, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Port Harcourt Branch has passed a resounding vote of confidence on its Chairperson, Cordelia Eke, and her Executive Committee (EXCO). The resolution was made during the branch’s general meeting held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The branch also formally adopted a joint press statement earlier issued by other NBA branch chairmen within Port Harcourt. The statement, which condemned the query issued to Mrs Eke, was fully supported by the members present.
During the meeting, members expressed disapproval over the query and reaffirmed their support for the branch leadership. In a proactive move, the branch resolved to set up a monitoring team to follow further developments surrounding the issue and to recommend and take appropriate steps when necessary.
The decision pursues the branch’s commitment to unity, due process, justice and the defense of its leadership structure.
