The House of Representatives has postponed its resumption date by one week. Initially set to return from its annual vacation on Tuesday, September 17, members of the lower chamber will now resume plenary on Tuesday, September 24, at 11:00 a.m.
The shift in the resumption date was announced by the House’s spokesman, Akintunde Rotimi, who disclosed that the decision was communicated to members via an internal memo from the Clerk of the House, Dr. Yahaya Danzaria, following a directive from the House leadership.
No official reason has been provided for the change in schedule.
Rotimi also noted that upon resumption, the House will inaugurate the new board of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and the Joint Senate/House Ad Hoc Committees on the Petroleum Industry Investigation on September 25.
