A former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, has called on legal practitioners across the country to reflect deeply on the significance of Good Friday, urging a renewed commitment to the ideals of justice, service, and professional integrity. On this solemn occasion of Good Friday, I join Christians across Nigeria and around the world in reflecting on the profound sacrifice, love, and redemption that this day represents.
This season calls us to embrace the values of compassion, humility, and service to others. As members of the legal profession, it is a reminder of our shared duty to uphold justice, defend the rule of law, and serve humanity with integrity and courage.
I remain deeply committed to the welfare of Nigerian lawyers, because I understand that a strong, united, and supported Bar is essential to the advancement of justice in our society. Your well-being, growth, and dignity in practice will always remain at the heart of my vision.
As we reflect today, may we find renewed strength, hope, and purpose in our calling. May the lessons of Good Friday guide us toward a more just, united, and compassionate Bar.
