Rapulu Nduka Unveils 10-Point Agenda, Promises Technology-Driven NBA Secretariat

Candidate for the office of General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Dr. Rapulu Nduka, has unveiled a 10-point agenda aimed at transforming the NBA Secretariat into a more efficient, technology-driven, transparent, and member-focused institution.

In an appeal to members of the Bar ahead of the forthcoming national elections, Nduka said his vision is to improve service delivery by introducing measurable timelines, digital innovation, and enhanced accessibility for lawyers across the country.

Among his key commitments is the introduction of a service standard under which members’ requests would be acknowledged within 12 to 24 hours, while complaints would, where practicable, be resolved within five to seven working days. He also pledged to deploy digital tracking systems that would enable members to monitor the progress of their applications and requests in real time.

The General Secretary hopeful further proposed the adoption of artificial intelligence-powered support systems to provide round-the-clock responses to routine enquiries, alongside broader digital reforms to simplify registration, verification, and other Secretariat processes.

Nduka also outlined plans to expand the use of secure digital NBA Stamps and Seals with barcode verification, facilitate members’ name change applications processed through the Supreme Court, and strengthen records management, communication, and overall institutional responsiveness.

He stated that his agenda is informed by his previous experience as National Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association and his professional background in Information Technology Law and Cyber Law, expressing confidence that these experiences would enable him to deliver a modern Secretariat that serves members more effectively.

According to Nduka, the proposed reforms are designed to ensure that the NBA Secretariat becomes faster, more accountable, and better equipped to meet the needs of lawyers in an increasingly digital era.
