PSN, NDLEA, Others Move Against Drug Abuse In Nigeria

In a concerted effort to combat the growing epidemic of drug and substance abuse in Nigeria, the Board of Fellows of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have launched an extensive awareness campaign across the country.

The initiative was announced by the National Chairman of BOF-PSN, Pharm. Uchenna Uzoma Apakama, during its 7th public lecture, themed Mental Health as a Basic Human Right: Crucial to Personal, Community, and Socio-Economic Development.

Apakama emphasized the urgent need for awareness regarding substance abuse, stating that the body will work tirelessly to bring drug abuse awareness to the nooks and crannies of Nigeria, ensuring that every citizen understands the dangers and consequences of substance misuse.

In his Remark, the special guest of honour, Brig. General Mohammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Honorable Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, pledged their unwavering support to BOF-PSN’s efforts.
