PSC Chair Restoring Sanity in Police, Says Oluwo

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has commended the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Hashimu Argungu, for his reforms in the Nigerian Police Force.

Oba Akanbi stated that Argungu’s “reformative skills” had motivated many Nigerians to join the police force.

Oluwo, according to a statement by his Press Secretary, Ibrahim Alli, made the remarks during his visit to the office of the PSC chairman in Abuja, on Thursday.

He said there had been improved leadership tempo in the police, describing it as a product of the experienced administrative prowess of the chairman.

Commending the commission for ensuring the timely promotion of police officers, Oluwo appealed to the Federal Government to recruit more personnel to strengthen the security architecture of the nation.

He extolled Argungu and his team for restoring discipline and sanity as reflected in the professional conduct of the policemen.

Oba Akanbi said, “While commending policemen and women for their services to the nation, I must specially commend the Chairman of the Police Service Commission for reforming the commission.

“Argungu has convincingly restored discipline and sanity to the force through his administrative experience. He has improved the administrative tempo of the commission, an envy of others.

“Under your leadership, police officers are promoted when due. Equally, I am appealing to the Federal Government, led by President Bola Tinubu, to recruit more people into the force to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture. The appointment of capable individuals as service chiefs has reflected in an enhanced security of Nigeria.”
