Proven Performance, Trusted Leadership: Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe’s Campaign Makes Its Case

Supporters of Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, presidential candidate in the forthcoming Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) election, have urged members of the Bar to assess candidates based on their track record in office, describing proven performance as the most reliable measure of leadership.

According to the campaign, Akangbe’s record of service reflects a commitment to practical reforms and member-focused initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and professional development of lawyers. Among the achievements highlighted are efforts to promote affordable health insurance for legal practitioners, support for young lawyers through welfare initiatives, and investments in capacity building designed to strengthen the legal profession.

The campaign maintained that leadership should be judged by tangible results rather than campaign promises, arguing that Akangbe’s experience and history of service demonstrate his readiness to lead the Association at a critical period in its development. It further stated that his vision is centred on strengthening the NBA through inclusive leadership, enhanced member welfare, and institutional reforms.

With the NBA presidential election scheduled for 20 July 2026, supporters called on members to back Akangbe’s candidacy, describing him as a leader whose record, experience, and commitment to service position him to advance the interests of lawyers across the country.
