President Tinubu In Cotonou For Benin Republic’s Independence Anniversary

President Bola Tinubu has landed in Cotonou, the capital of Benin Republic ahead of the country’s 63rd Independence anniversary.

Tinubu who arrived safely on Tuesday is in the region as the special guest of honour.

He was received at Cardinal Bernardin Gantin Gadjehoun International Airport by the nation’s Senior Coordinating Minister, Bio Tchane, and that of Foreign Affairs, Olusegun Adjadi at 09:22 GMT.

The national event takes place at Amazone Square, Cotonou and the conclusion of festivities will see President Talon and Tinubu lunch at the Presidential Palace.

After lunch, Tinubu is scheduled to meet with a selected group of Nigerians residing in Benin Republic and depart afterwards.

Cotonou is reportedly wearing a new look to celebrate the independence anniversary, with excitement pervading the air as citizens participate in the event.

The country’s flag is currently being displayed in different parts of the city amid the presence of security going about their patrol duty.
