President Tinubu Cancels Democracy Day Broadcast

President Bola Tinubu has cancelled the nationwide Democracy Day broadcast slated for Thursday morning.

The President was initially slated to address Nigerians at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday as part of activities marking this year’s Democracy Day celebration in the country.

The Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Segun Imohiosen, said in a statement in Abuja that the nationwide broadcast was cancelled because of President Tinubu’s scheduled programme with the joint session of the National Assembly in Abuja.

According to him, the President now delivers his Democracy Day address directly from the National Assembly chambers.

The statement read: “Due to President Bola Tinubu scheduled attendance at the National Assembly Joint Session, the Presidential National Broadcast on June 12 has been cancelled. President Tinubu will deliver his address from the National Assembly.”
