Presidency Refutes Claims of President Tinubu’s Ill Health

The Presidency has categorically dismissed circulating reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu is unwell and may require medical treatment abroad. In a statement issued on Monday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, described the claims as baseless and unfounded, urging Nigerians to disregard the rumors.

“The President is in good health and remains fully committed to his duties,” Ngelale said. “These reports are the handiwork of mischief-makers aiming to create unnecessary panic and distract from the administration’s ongoing efforts to address national challenges.”

The statement comes in response to social media speculations and unverified reports suggesting that President Tinubu was planning to travel overseas for medical reasons. The Presidency clarified that no such plans exist and reaffirmed the President’s focus on implementing economic reforms and addressing critical issues facing the nation.

Ngelale also called on media outlets to verify information before publishing, emphasizing the importance of responsible journalism in combating misinformation. The Presidency assured Nigerians that President Tinubu remains in high spirits and is actively engaged in governance.

This is not the first time such rumors have surfaced, as similar claims about the President’s health were debunked in 2023 and 2024. The administration continues to urge citizens to rely on official channels for accurate information regarding the President’s activities and well-being.
