Presidency Denies Alleged Broadcast By Tinubu, Says It’s Fake

The Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has dismissed as false a broadcast text circulating online.

He also urged Nigerians to disregard the text, which allegedly claims to be a broadcast by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Onanuga clarified that the broadcast is entirely fabricated and the work of individuals intent on creating confusion and chaos in the country. “Please ignore it. President Tinubu has not made any broadcast,” he stated.

The circulating message falsely alleges that President Bola Tinubu, in a spirit of fiscal responsibility, took drastic measures, including slashing his salary by 50%.

“Effective immediately, I am announcing a 50% reduction in my salary and all other emoluments. I call upon the Vice President, Senate President, and all other top government officials to follow suit. We who have been entrusted with leadership must be the first to make sacrifices for the good of our nation.”

In the alleged message, the president appealed to the Vice president and others to do same.

The special adviser has however urged Nigerians to ignore the statement as it is fake.
