The Nigeria Police in Owerri have filed formal charges against Chinedu Agu, a 38-year-old former secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Owerri Branch, over Facebook posts alleged to incite unrest and defame the Imo State government and the Nigeria Police Force.
Court records from the Owerri Magisterial District show Agu faces four counts under the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024.
