Parley 2026: Justice Haruna Celebrates AWLA, Hails Women Lawyers’ Commitment to Excellence and Leadership

Hon. Justice Ojoma Rachael Haruna, Judge of the High Court of Justice, Kogi State, has congratulated the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA) on the occasion of its Annual Parley, themed “Excellence Wears Heels.” In a goodwill message, Justice Haruna described the theme as timely and powerful, noting that the symbolism of heels goes beyond elegance and distinction to represent strength, courage, resilience, confidence and the determination to overcome limitations.

Justice Haruna commended AWLA for its continued role as a formidable platform for promoting the professional advancement, leadership and empowerment of women lawyers across Africa. She noted that the Annual Parley offers an important opportunity for members of the legal profession to celebrate achievements, exchange ideas, strengthen solidarity and inspire the next generation of women lawyers to pursue excellence and make meaningful contributions to society.

The Kogi State High Court Judge urged women lawyers to remain committed to excellence, justice, equality and impactful leadership, encouraging them to “walk boldly, lead courageously and leave an enduring legacy.” She expressed her admiration for the exceptional women lawyers who continue to embody the spirit of “Excellence Wears Heels,” while wishing AWLA a memorable, successful and impactful Annual Parley.
