Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, has been sworn in as the 33rd President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), succeeding Afam Osigwe, SAN, who served as the Association’s 32nd President.
Badejo-Okusanya took the oath of office on Friday, August 28, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, formally assuming leadership of Nigeria’s foremost professional association for lawyers.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by the immediate past NBA President, Afam Osigwe, SAN, marking the official transition of leadership within the Association.
Her emergence as the 33rd President ushers in a new administration at the NBA, with expectations that the new leadership will build on ongoing reforms while advancing the interests, welfare and professional development of Nigerian lawyers.
The transition took place in Port Harcourt, where members of the legal profession gathered for the formal change of leadership and other activities of the Association.
Badejo-Okusanya is expected to lead the NBA during her tenure as the Association continues to play a key role in legal advocacy, professional regulation, justice-sector development and the promotion of the rule of law in Nigeria.
