OTU OKA-IWU as an affiliate member organization of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, participated in the Annual IGBO WORLD DAY OF ADORATION AND THANKSGIVING, which is observed every last Saturday in January of every year.
It is a day set aside by Igbo church leaders in collaboration with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to pray and thank the Almighty God, for preservation of the race from near total annihilation, from, during and after the pogrom of 1967-1970; otherwise called “The Biafra/Nigeria War”.
Otu Oka-iwu Executive Committee led by it’s President, Mazi Okechukwu Unegbu, 1st Vice President; Mrs Nneka Chris-Asoluka, General Secretary; Ben Ihesiulo and other members, joined Igbo men and women, to offer heartfelt prayers for the souls of those who paid the supreme price or suffered grave losses in the War to offer thanksgiving to God for His blessings upon the IGBO race.
The Thanksgiving Service took place at St John’s Anglican Church, Falomo Ikoyi, Lagos.
