Osun NSCDC Gives Directives Against Criminality

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Osun Command, has issued its officers and employees directives to safeguard the security of public areas and to ensure a conducive atmosphere free from crime.

The Osun NSCDC Commandant, Sunday Agboola, who issued the orders, also told all Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to improve their operational capacities in order to ensure effective public space security and to ensure a state free from crime.

While giving this charge during the monthly strategic meeting with Area Commanders and Divisional Officers in Osogbo, Agboola also stressed the need for officers to have a firm control of their respective jurisdiction.

“The activities of insurgents, kidnappers and bandits have crippled the nation’s economy.

“You need to be on your toes to smoke out criminally minded people in the society,” Commandant Agboola said.

The Osun NSCDC helmsman emphasized that officers must be emplaced at worship centres, markets and public places in the state in order to prevent attacks on such places.

He stressed the need for Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to have a good relationship with their immediate communities in order to gather credible intelligence that would help tackle various insecurity issues affecting the country.

He noted that intelligence is the bedrock of security agencies and it must be taken seriously.

“I urge you to go back and implement issues discussed,. It should be visible in your service delivery,” Commandant Agboola concluded.
