Osun CP Urges Newly Deployed ASPs to Uphold Discipline, Professionalism

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, has urged newly deployed Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASPs, posted to the state to uphold discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

CP Gotan also charged them to conduct themselves in line with the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Osun Police boss gave the charge while receiving newly passed-out Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police deployed to the state at the command headquarters in Osogbo on Tuesday.

Their deployment, according to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, followed their graduation from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.

The statement revealed that the cadet ASPs were “part of Regular Course 7 and were deployed to various states across the federation after completing five years of intensive academic and professional training.”

According to CP Gotan, “You are expected to exhibit discipline and professional conduct while carrying out your responsibilities as officers of the Force.”

The training programme culminated in the award of Bachelor’s degrees in their respective fields of study at the Nigeria Police Academy.

The Commissioner of Police also attended the first meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Osun State for the year 2026.

During the meeting, CP Gotan expressed appreciation to the PCRC leadership and members for their continued support of the Command.

He specifically commended the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Popoola Ogundoyin, as well as the executives and members, for what he described as their selfless service.

CP Gotan added, “I appreciate the unalloyed support of the PCRC and seek your continued cooperation in maintaining peace and security across the state.”
