Osun Assembly Passes LG Amendment Bill

Osun State House of Assembly, yesterday, passed the bill amending some sections of the state local council law.

The Bill, title, “Osun State Local Government Amendment No. 2 Bill 2026,” was passed after the third reading.

Egbedun said clean copies would be forwarded to Governor Ademola Adeleke for his assent.

In another development, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Olawale Rasheed, has said that the payroll audited by Sally Tibbot Consulting Limited was inherited from the administration of Gboyega Oyetola.

Rasheed, who spoke during an interview, said if there is payroll fraud as claimed by the consulting firm, Oyetola’s administration should be responsible for it.

Meanwhile, the Osun State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has described the recent controversies arising from the staff audits by the administration of Adeleke as “unfortunate and embarrassing.”
