Senator Iyiola Omisore has formally withdrawn his legal challenge against the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary.
The notice of withdrawal, filed at the Federal High Court in the Osogbo Judicial Division, marks the end of a contentious legal battle that had kept the party’s internal dynamics under intense scrutiny.
The suit, numbered FHC/OS/CS/261/2025, named the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the first and second defendants, respectively.
According to the official court document dated March 11, 2026, and processed by the court registry on March 16, 2026, the decision to abort the litigation follows a successful reconciliation of the issues that initially prompted the suit.
The notice was brought pursuant to Order 50 Rule 2, Sub-Rule 1 & 5 of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019.
The document, signed by the legal team from Lords and Temple led by Gboyega Oyewole, SAN states:
“TAKE NOTICE that upon the reconciliation of the issues in this suit, the Plaintiff hereby withdraw and/or discontinue in its entirety his Claim in the suit herein against the Defendants.”
This move is widely seen as a major breakthrough for the APC in Osun State as it seeks to present a united front ahead of the upcoming gubernatorial elections.
By opting for an out-of-court settlement and internal reconciliation, Omisore, a heavyweight in Osun politics, has effectively cleared a major legal hurdle that threatened the party’s stability.
With the certified true copy of the discontinuance now public, political observers expect the APC to shift its full focus toward its general election campaign, following months of internal friction.
